| It has been said that prayer is for the soul as food is for the body. Our life in Christ as married couples must be nourished by prayer. Couples who avail themselves together to daily prayer strengthen their walk against the continual attacks that come to us from the tempter and ourselves. Spouses must mold their lives in prayer and provide the place where their children learn to encounter the risen Lord through their witness of love.
“Nothing is equal to prayer; for what is impossible it makes possible, what is difficult. Easy…For it is impossible, utterly impossible, for the man who prays eagerly and invokes God ceaselessly ever to sin.” St. John Chrysostom
“Prayer is a vital necessity. Proof from the contrary is no less convincing: if we do not allow the Spirit to lead us, we fall back into the slavery of sin.” Gal 5:16-25
"Whatever you ask the Father in my name, he [will] give it to you. This I command you, to love one another.” Jn 15:16-17

Willwoods Spouses’ Prayer
Lord, Jesus, You are the Author of life and the Author of marriage. I thank You now for the gift of my vocation to marriage. Thank You for my spouse. Give me the grace to love, honor, and cherish my spouse this day. Fill me with the gifts of Your Spirit that I may joyfully carry out the duties of my vocation. Help me to remember Your Presence throughout the day so that I may not grow weary in loving and serving my family. Without You, Lord, I can do nothing. Renew my love, my patience and my fidelity that in loving my spouse I may better love and serve You. - Amen
Willwoods Daily Prayer
Lord, draw out from the center of our being the essential goodness you have instilled within all your children at the loving moment You created us.
Place us at the service of You Holy Spirit as we seek to conform our free will to Your Divine will through Your daily gifts of grace.
Enable us to see more clearly Your Son Jesus’ presence in our sisters and bothers with whom we have been called to minister the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
Grant us the grace, through the intercession of Mary our Mother, to recognize the Holy Face of Your Divine Son in the Eucharist and in each and every child of God.
