This Retreat Has Reached Capacity
The Willwoods Community is blessed to be able to work with the St. Joseph Abbey Christian Life Center as a place to host our retreats. Each retreat is led by peer couple facilitators and a priest. Retreats begin on Saturday morning and end on Sunday after lunch. If you are traveling a far distance or if you would just like to start your weekend getaway earlier, you can make arrangements with us to arrive on Friday evening.
Purpose
Our Married Couples Retreats are a great opportunity for couples to break away from the daily struggles and tasks and spend time rejuvenating and enriching their marriage.

Marriage, as a union of faithful and indissoluble love, is based upon the grace that comes from the triune God, who in Christ loved us with a faithful love, even to the Cross. Today we ought to grasp the full truth of this statement, in contrast to the painful reality of many marriages which, unhappily, end badly. There is a clear link between the crisis in faith and the crisis in marriage. And, as the Church has said and witnessed for a long time now, marriage is called to be not only an object but a subject of the new evangelization.” (Pope Benedict XVI)
The Grounds
The Abbey is located on a 1,200-acre site four miles north of Covington, LA. The beautiful, lush and holy grounds provide each couple opportunities for quiet and reflective freedom.
Accommodations
The Christian Life Center can accommodate 23 couples. Each couple will be given their own private bedroom and bathroom. Guest rooms, chapel, lounge, library and dining room are all located in the same building.
Cost
There are no fees for the Married Couples Retreat. A suggested donation with deposit is welcomed to help us cover expenses. Those who are able to give more than the suggested donation, please do so. Those of more limited means may give whatever they can. Suggested donation, including the $50.00 deposit, is $275.00.
